Last week, the students of the studio ‘Embracing Imperfection” showcased their work during the open studios at the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Urban Design after a semester of research and design.

The studio ‘Embracing Imperfection” investigates what a locally grown, bio-based architecture in Rotterdam can look like when using minimally processed raw materials. In the studio, students explored the process from crop to facade, built a collective material sample library, and designed and realized a fully bio-based facade section.
